Salmon is a successful professional services firm specialising in the delivery of technology-based business solutions to predominantly the Retail, Insurance and Finance sectors. We are currently seeking an additional Business Analyst. You will be working as part of an integrated client/Salmon team in a highly interactive environment. You will be a key part of the team and expected to take the initiative in ensuring the business needs of our client are fully understood and met by the proposed solution. Main responsibilities include, •To identify a customer’s Insurance/Re-insurance system requirements and to translate these into specifications for use by both business and technical users. •To understand the specification of the RiskWrite Insurance package and to provide analysis support to the customers and support staff. •Identify options for potential solutions and assessing them for both technical and business suitability •Create logical and innovative solutions to complex problems •Liaise extensively with external or internal clients •Translate client requirements into highly specified project briefs •Analyse business systems in order to recommend improved efficiencies •Provide estimates for future work •Provide a definition of systems •Produce project feasibility reports; •Present proposals to clients •Work closely with Developers and a variety of end users to ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction; •Provide analysis support to the test team •Ensure that budgets are adhered to and deadlines met; •Plan and work flexibly to a deadline; •Provide training to users of a new system; •Keep up to date with technical as well as industry sector advances. Experience requirements: •At least two years analysis experience •Production of functional specifications or similar •Experience of analysis and design of Systems (Package Integration & Bespoke development) •Experience of Business Process Engineering •Database experience •Exposure to the following would be desirable – Test Director, Windows, Toad/SQL, Navigator/DBVisualiser, Websphere, Java, DB2/Oracle, knowledge of Accessibility guidelines, website usability, Visio, UML, Unix, E-commerce •Knowledge of Change Management process. 8.Familiarisation with full project lifecycle
