Commercial Manager - defence. Our client, a leader in the provision of defence communications equipment, based in Dorset require a Commercial Manager to join their existing legal and commercial team. This is an excellent opportunity for Commercial Managers who may be seeking to enhance their career in a challenging environment within the defence sector. As Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for facilitating order capture by the business, ensuring an acceptable balance between contractual performance risk and profitability. The drafting of commercial responses to bids, and contractual disputes. Agreeing with Business VP's, the contractual criteria for bid preparation, submission, and negotiation. Support the business on contractual issues, interpretation and risks that arise. Assess potential liabilities in both pre and post contract circumstances. Provide written inputs to phase review and tender vet approval processes. Liaise with procurement on contract terms and conditions. There will also be an opportunity to manage up to 3 members of staff in this position. Due to the nature of this role, the candidate may also be required to travel internationally, occasionally at short notice. Knowledge of termination, IPR, acceptance and pricing are required as any candidate shall be required to learn similar terms for USA contracting and export contracting, which, at times, may be more difficult to understand than UK law and MOD standard terms and conditions.
