Assistant I T Manager - to 30k - Lancashire. Computer people are recruiting for a prestigious and global organisation with strong local presense in the North- commutable from the Lancashire/North and West Yorkshire areas. This is a role in which you can really make a difference and it is essential that you are a dedicated, self motivated and possess the drive to push forward new ideas for the IT department, which is about to undergo certain changes with your help. Supporting approximately 400 users, no day will be the same as the next and you really will be challenged on a day to day basis. Essential technical skills needed are Unix/Informix, SQL and Windows with experience working with databases. The successful candidate mustbe able to perform Unix System admin tasks, including user and printer maintenance. Must have a good understanding of relational databases (preferably informix), including the ability to write and undertsand SQL, stored procedures and database triggers. The candidate must be confident in writing and understanding Unix Shell Scripts as well as supporting Windows 2000 and Windows 2003 Server Operating systems.
