People Direct are currently looking Internet Network Engineer for a company that provides the provision of end-to-end solution, from simple products such as fixed lines, calls and connections through to sophisticated IP solutions such as MPLS and telephony management services. The role will involve the installation, configuration and preconfiguration of networking equipment for bespoke customer solutions. Core equipment provided being Switches, Routers, Firewalls. The company are a Cisco partner so main brand is Cisco. Other brands include Sonicwall and Fortinet Firewalls, Draytek, Netgear and Linksys Routers, HP Switches. Core competencies and experience required: fast learner. Good knowledge of Internet Services and their provision. Proven Cisco experience a must. Ability to work as a team and sharing knowledge with others. Ability to work under pressure. Talking to customers, making recommendations to try and create more sales opportunities. Ability to spot/design new product opportunities or solutions. The technologies required are: TCP/IP, IPSEC VPNs, IP routing protocols, VLANS, access-lists and security. Routing protocols eg OSPF EIGRP and an understanding of DNS, SMTP would be desirable. Occasionally some cabling is required, terminating network cabling to patch panels and RJ45/RJ11 crimping. The role is based in High Newbury and is paying up to 45k, apply now.
