HowTo - Interview Tips - Part 1

Here are a list of tips that often come in handy. Don't necessarily think you have to check each one off your list during the interview. They are a guide to what interviewers would like to see and aren't a requirement to getting the job.

1. Be Calm

It's more important that you're calm and professional than to pretend to be something you're not. Don't be afraid to take a little more time than you'd normally require to come up with answers.

2. Answer the Question

If an employer asks you a question, make sure your answer is on the dot and keeps to the subject in question. Don't get tempted to wander off on a long monologue. Once you've had your say, make your point, wind up and be quiet.

3. Defuse the Situation

Remember to lighten up the mood in the interview room. Being able to throw in an appropriately timed joke or comment will do wonders.
